2020 has certainly had it's challenges for each and every one of us but our team at Beyond the Grove is resilient. When our former company closed it's doors, we knew we still had more left to do so... under the leadership of Rob Thomson, we established Beyond The Grove.  In starting his own company, with the help of his valued team members, his plan is to serve all varieties of catering and provide the quality food and service we are so proud of. Robert J. Thomson was the former Regional Director and Partner of the Philadelphia Region for La Prima Food Group Inc.  He served the company for 35 years. in all areas. From retail operations to supervision of 11 individual units.

For the past 14 years Rob grew the business and developed relationships with new clients that included providing a wide variety of catering.  From corporate drop offs to upscale events for over 800 guests.  He also created a lasting partnership with the Philadelphia Flyers and Philadelphia 76'ers to provide food for all their flights and train travel out of the city. 

 

Prior to his time with La Prima, Mr. Thomson was general manager for Pillsbury Corporation in its S and A food service division and was responsible for several Bennigan’s concept restaurants, his responsibilities encompassed overall financial performance, cost and sales analysis, recruiting and development of all management staff.

Mr. Thomson has a degree in Hotel Restaurant Management from Paul Smith’s College, Paul Smith’s, New York. Outstanding service and food quality have been the key aspects to his successful career in the food service industry.
